Comments:
This was a pretty enjoyable hike. There were some significant changes in elevation, and the trail(s) are unimproved. When I hike it's strictly for the purpose of taking pictures and this was not a bad hike for that. Wildflowers were in bloom and there were a few butterflies and other insects out and about. But birdlife was scarce and the bird hut which is designed for bird viewing was an enormous waste of time. At the Old Glory Lookout the trail becomes very poorly marked and we ended up inadvertently taking a shortcut back out to City Hill Rd.
