started this hike with high expectations...really pretty boulders and gradual climb but then it got a bit too "back country" for me...loads of burned off cactus and trees. i enjoy walking so this was ok - then i found echo canyon and that was super nice!

this is my "daily" hike...it's near my home so it's super convenient. i love the hillview trail (natural) then hit redoak up to the tower and back again. it gets my heart rate up enough so that i feel like i'm getting a workout. i can't stand the gym so this is perfect for me.
LOVED the fern del and vista loop area!

the first time i went, i didn't care for it. i had my baby in the backpack and didn't want to venture to the fern del area - glad i didn't. but i did today w/o her and it was gorgeous! steep climbs at times and beautiful views.
i will definitely go back but like i said i don't think i could do it with a baby packed.

i must say i was a bit dissappointed. when you look at the website it has loads and loads of pictures of glorious trees but when you're actually there...it's only a tree here and a tree there that are changing. still very pretty - the drive was delightful.
the hike was enjoyable enough but by the time i got down it was sooooo crowded i left.
