The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum is showing an exhibit on the contributions of the Civilian Conservation Corps to Texas State Parks. The exhibit will run through June 30, 2013.

The CCC exhibit is situated in the third floor rotunda, overlooking the large campfire mural on the ground floor below. It's not a large exhibit by any means and even if you read every work it won't take you much more than 30 minutes to get through it all, but it's still an interesting view into some of the contributions of the corps that we continue to enjoy decades later.

Almost a third of the state parks today were created or built up by the CCC between 1933 and 1942.

Of course there's plenty of other things to do at the museum, so if you have an interest in the outdoors then there's yet another reason to go check out the museum before the end of June.
