The Texas Coop magazine recently carried a story that has a connection with the hill country of sorts. During WWII the US experimented with using bats as incendiary devices over Japan. Needless to say there were some learning experiences in the law of unintended consequences when the bats ended up burning down the airfield's control tower, a barracks and several other buildings.
