Steep hike best done on a cool day. Kids and seniors can hike down to falls without hiking out on the rocks. If you don't mind the challange the hike out to the falls is well worth it. A hidden fall area as well as huge nest of cave swallows is just over the first rise. We went with a yellow lab that had to be lifted up over some of the rock pillars. Don't forget the sunscreen!

The actual waterfalls are not visible from the overlook and must be hiked to (it's not far, but it can require minor jumping from rock to rock/scrambling, depending on the water level). When the water is flowing over the falls, it's much more impressive than a "water slope". :)

Central Texas is not known for great waterfalls, but this is one of them. It's actually more of a water slope, but the effect is much the same. The short trail leading to the falls is extremely busy on nice days. A solitude rating of 0 might have applied here.
