At capacity
Turkey Creek Trail [Hiking] - 5/14/2017  [View Log Page]
Rating: halfstar Difficulty: halfstar Solitude: halfstar
Distance: N/A Duration: N/A

We tried to go here today at 4pm, but they were at capacity and wouldn't let in anyone in for another hour. Something to think about on weekends. We ended up going to RiverPlace again, which is nearby.

Lots of stairs
River Place Nature Trail [Hiking] - 5/14/2017  [View Log Page]
Rating: 3point5stars Difficulty: 4stars Solitude: 2stars
Distance: 3.23 Miles Duration: 1 hour, 20 minutes

This was our second time hiking this trail. It's very well maintained and has some great scenery. Lots of cliffs here and there along with tiny waterfalls. It would be great to come here after a rain.

There a A LOT of stairs here, so be prepared. Also, don't hike on the Water Main Trail. It's just a maintenance road for some water mains and smells like sewage.

Ehh...It's OK, but watch out for Poison Ivy.
Onion Creek District Park [Hiking] - 4/30/2017  [View Log Page]
Rating: 2stars Difficulty: 1point5stars Solitude: 1point5stars
Distance: 2.75 Miles Duration: N/A

The main part of this trail is farily wide and takes you about a mile down to Onion Creek. Nearly half of the hike, you'll see LOTS of Poison Ivy on the East side of the trail.Anyone who is highly allergic should probably stay away (I am), as you will probably also encounter people with dogs that are running right through all of it. We were careful, but we won't go back here anymore.

That being said, we also decided to cross Onion Creek to get the Metropolitan park and try some of those trails. None were that great. Lots of dead cactus and again, a lot of Poison Ivy.

So, it's kind of a meh trail, and probably not worth it.

Great Hike on a Great Day
Great Hills Park [Hiking] - 3/18/2017  [View Log Page]
Rating: 4point5stars Difficulty: 2point5stars Solitude: 3stars
Distance: 3.06 Miles Duration: 1 hour, 25 minutes

This is our second time on this trail. We've really enjoyed it both times.

There are quite a few creek crossings and the water was high enough that our corgi got his paws and undercarriage pretty wet. It was still very easy for us to stay out ot the water though.

We started at the playscape and hiked to the end of all the branches of the trail, which is really well marked, to get in a 3 mile hike.

The trail is very scenic at times with rock cliffs and tiny waterfalls in a few places. There were a lot of people at the playscape area and a few hikers on the trail, but overall it's pretty quiet out there in the middle of the suburbs.

Great Hike

Really liked this hike. Even though you're near houses most of the time, it never really feels like it. Not too difficult, but not too easy either.
